Codes, Cipers, and the German Enigma Machine

Codes, Cipers, and the German Enigma Machine

The IEEE student branch would like to invite you to attend a lecture by David Hammer. The Lecture, entitled Codes, Ciphers, and the German Enigma Machine, will be held on Tuesday April 19th at 5:00 PM in the Stern Seminar room in the Hagerty Library. Refreshments will be served, and we will be raffling off an IPOD Shuffle.

David will give an overview of some classic codes and ciphers and a look at the development and use of "ENIGMA" - the principal cipher system used by the German armed forces in the years before and during World War II.

Math Forum@Drexel's website provides several informative web sites on Cryptography. These include a web site on Bletchley Park and a web site by David Hamer
